Paul's Friends (now mine, too)

What a sweet weekend! Saturday morning we got up early to go garage saleing in our neighborhood...yes, 250 garage sales! I will post more about our many treasures from that sometime later:)
Later on Saturday, Paul's friend, Kevin, from California joined us for dinner, night and went to church with us. He has a fun perspective on life and really enjoyed visiting with him.
On Sunday afternoon we had the treat of Paul's "mentor" friends from West Point visit us. They are moving to S. America (from Central America) and are taking some time off in the states. Oh how encouraging and fun they are! Paul has talked about them so often and I finally got to meet them! We discussed so many things and were encouraged in many many ways. They are such a neat couple and will maybe have to visit them in S. America in the future:)

Intimate Shower for Ramona

As Ramona and Pete's wedding is very soon--next week--we are definitely celebrating with them! On Friday, Ramona had an intimate Shower and we had a blast being girlie!

A Shower, Wedding, Baptism and Death

Whew, what an exciting and fun week in Minnesota! It was such a treat to start off the week spending 2 days at Paul's bro's house, John & Sue 's. We got to see Luke's softball game, eat chocolate pudding for breakfast, go swimming, waterskiing, shopping, eat s'mores amidst John's newly landscaped yard with a waterfall and fire pit. Of course our fav part was hanging out and enjoying time with their fam.

We then headed to Mark & Anne's cabin on the lake where we joined all of Paul's family. That was a blast, hanging out, bbqing and competing in the 2nd annual ping pong tourney. Paul took over my title this year as reigning champ. My big belly didn't prove to help the game. After a tough game with my nephew, we came upstairs to a surprise baby shower! Talk about being surprised! It was a blast, with games, presents and cake. Our first baby shower...it was great!

The next day was Paul's cousin's wedding. It was very classy with the reception at an old theatre at the University. The next morning we attended Gabriel's baptism and enjoyed the day at Sara and Nate's home.

Another fun thing about this weekend, was Greta, our goddaughter (actually her mom, Sue) gave us her baby clothes for our little one to wear. She had saved them for us unexpectantly.

The rest of the week we got to spend with Paul's parents. We enjoyed hanging out with them, landscaping a bit and shopping in their cute little town. Yesterday morning they got a call that Paul's uncle died after fighting cancer these last couple of months. We knew it was coming, but it is so final when it actually happens. Uncle Elton is celebrating in heaven pain free.

That was our week...very eventful! Wish flights and miles didn't keep us so far from all of them!

Patriotic Weekend

Fourth of July weekend was so fun! Paul and I went to Keystone on Wednesday and Paul's friend/coworker, Chuck, joined us for some mountain biking on Thursday. Then we all slept in on Friday when we were supposed to be in Breckenridge for a 10K. We got there late so the guys ran a 9K instead joining in the crowd of runners a bit late. Then we headed back for a free July 4th Orchestra concert. We sang patriotic songs with the Orchestra as well as just enjoyed their talents. Later in the day, it was such a treat: Julia and Bryan spent the weekend with us. They had been trekking throughout the west visiting every National Park. We enjoyed fireworks over Lake Dillon, Paul and Bryan mountain biking, Julia and I getting pedicures and just talking and talking. The last night we stayed up way past all of our bedtimes. I think our little baby was confused by my schedule. She has not stopped kicking and moving ever since this weekend! A good time was had by all:) Pictured above is the 4 of us, Chuch and Paul saluting the flag, Chuck and Paul after the race and then the orchestra.
