Weekend with Mom and Dad

Whew, what a fun-filled weekend! Mom and dad came out Friday night and Saturday morning we were up early...finding all of the garage sales in our neighborhood. We found all kinds of goodies including a patio set for mom and dad. Now, how did you get that in your van again? We then headed up to the mountains! We went on a long hike, went to a Blues festival where dad bought a very stylish cowboy hat, attended an amazing church service outdoors with the river rushing behind and awesome worship music and then dad taught us how to throw horseshoes. I cannot believe we packed all of that in! Thanks mom and dad for visiting us!

Keystone Weekend

Sloan, Christina , Rafael and us went up to Keystone for the weekend and what a blast we had!! We always have such a great time talking about what Jesus is doing in our lives with these folks. We went on fun hikes and went to a jazz/rock n roll concert at the Dillon ampitheatre. We even caught the Keystone fireworks afterwards. Paul and I rode our bikes up to Keystone resorts chairlifts today (Paul took the day off). We found new ways to ski down in the winter:) We both wish today was Friday and we could start this weekend all over again, it was so nice.

Congrats Paul!!!

Paul just found out he passed the Pediatric Boards Recertification Exam! Thank you Jesus and thank you everyone for praying for him! Every 7 years he has to get recertified and it is a bit stressful. He spent a week in Minneapolis studying and then took the exam there. We just found out this morning that he passed! Yippee! I am so proud of you!

4th of July

We had one of the best 4th of July's ever! We went up to the mountains to escape the Denver heat wave and hiked/jogged on a fun wild flower trail, attended a 4th of July orchestra at Dillon's ampitheatre and watched a sailboat parade. When we got home we wanted to see some fireworks but didn't feel like fighting traffic. We opened up our bedroom blinds and Northfield's fireworks are right out our window! We literally laid in bed and watched the show...we've never done that before!

Rock Climbing Adventure

On Sunday I learned how to rock climb! My friend, Holly, introduced me to the sport and her and I took a course on rock climbing in Boulder. I conquered fears I didn't know I had! I found muscles I didn't know I had either. But ended up loving the sport and actually crested a 5.8 climb (I guess that is difficult for a beginner?). Thank you Holly!! She also has been awesome this week in keeping me company while Paul is gone.

Fun Times with Joni

Joni is a person with whom I laugh so hard with I cry. We are cousins and grew up practically blocks from one another and with our moms have had many experiences together. I got to visit her for a couple of days and we again had a ball. She found some pink wool socks on sale (imagine that in summer) and we put those babies on when we went to the ice cream shop in 90 degree weather. We definitely felt the stares of those not understanding what in the world we were doing! Sam and Brody had grown up so much and were troopers with the "weird lady visiting". We spent hours at sale racks in Hallmark and other malls finding the best funny gifts for people...watch out friends and families. I had so much fun this week!!!

Vacation at Julia's

I have been visiting Julia's for a couple of days and am having a blast. Today we went to a card class and made sparkly little cards. Hopefully friends and family will feel very special when we send these handmade cards. One of my little perks of this weekend is babysitting Julia and Bryan's new pup in the morning when Julia is at summer school. Oh my, does Bela get into trouble. Today I heard a crunch and ran out to see what she had and it was Julia's prescription glasses that she had destroyed. We take Bela for walks to let some puppy energy out as well as enjoy the fun downtown area of Lawrence. It's been great...tomorrow I get to fly to St. Louis to see my dear cousin Joni.
